Justin Bieber To Fight In UFC
Justin Bieber was recently roasted on Comedy Central, successfully surviving a horrific verbal beat-down. Now it appears the young singer feels he is ready for a physical challenge and is in talks with UFC president, Dana White.
“Justin reached out to me, expressed his interest in fighting. He knew that we recently signed a relatively unskilled WWE wrestler named CM Punk, and thought now would be a good time to approach me about the chance to fight in the UFC,” said White.
Bieber is no stranger to martial arts. In fact from age 5-9 he was a regular Tae Kwon Do practitioner at a local YMCA gym. Since then he has practiced Tai Chi on and off for a few years. Recently he was spotted sparring with Floyd Mayweather.
White continued, “Look, I’m aware the kid does have 4 years of martial arts under his belt, so we are taking that into consideration. But the main thing that might get him into the UFC is our new 95 lb men’s division. We simply don’t have many 95 lb’ers yet. So, because of that, his chances are actually pretty damn decent at this point.”
Bieber has been training with an undisclosed camp in Canada, while having initial ink work applied for a soon-to-be full sleeve leg tattoo, a common indication that someone is about to enter the octagon.
Justin has been quiet on his UFC future, though he briefly told a reporter in passing, “I’d be a real threat at 95..no doubt..the weight cut would be nothin’..2-3 lbs really. So I’d be going in there at near full strength and I doubt my cardio is going to suffer much from a 2 pound weight cut. Anyway, I’m going to be working with the best cutter in the biz to ensure it doesn’t.”
No word yet when Bieber’s first bout inside the octagon will be if negotiations are successful.
