Carrot Top May Replace Jon Stewart as Daily Show Host

In a surprise move by top producers of The Daily Show, it appears as if comedian Carrot Top is a front runner for consideration in replacing Jon Stewart as the new host.

A Daily Show insider says the work ethic has a lot to do with the decision. “The guy works his ass off in Vegas…year round, multiple shows every single day, makes his own goofy props on his off days. The Daily Show will be a cake walk for him, compared to some of these other lazy comedians they were considering.”

The biggest controversary with the decision to use Carrot Top as host, revolves around his questionable political lean, as well as his knowledge on political issues. Many rumors have circulated that in private Top is a staunch republican with personal friendship ties to Dick Cheney.

“Cheney absolutely loves Carrot Top. He comes down to Vegas every year and always the front row is roped off for Cheney and Secret Service officials. Dick can’t get enough of Top’s crazy, crafty, prop based humor. It’s through that fandom that they have developed a friendship and go duck hunting together at least once every season,” says Las Vegas stage manager Jack Faloony.

Jon Stewart, who is happy with the potential decision, is not convinced about Top’s republican leaning, but also see’s it as a non-issue. “You know, so what. So f***in what if he ducks hunt with Dick and he’s a closet conservative. You know what, I say f*** it. I’ve come to the conclusion that after my 16-years in this industry, the media is so ass screwed backward based that maybe what we need is a right leaning red hair frizzball to take the reigns!”

No word yet on when the Daily Show will announce the choice for new host. Other contenders include former Saved By the Bell star, Dustin Diamond, and Sasha Cohen who starred in the film Borat.
